William Zinsser

Dear Carlos: I desperately need a dean's excuse for my chem midterm which will begin in about 1 hour. All I can say is that I totally blew it this week. I've fallen incredibly, inconceivably behind.
Carlos: Help! I'm anxious to hear from you. I'll be in my room and won't leave it until I hear from you. Tomorrow is the last day for...
Carlos: I left town because I started bugging out again. I stayed up all night to finish a take-home make-up exam & am typing it to hand in on the 10th. It was due on the 5th. P.S. I'm going to the dentist. Pain is pretty bad....
Carlos: Probably by Friday I'll be able to get back to my studies. Right now I'm going to take a long walk. This whole thing has taken a lot out of me....
Carlos: I'm really up the proverbial creek. The problem is I really bombed the history final. Since I need that course for my major. I...
Carlos: Here follows a tale of woe. I went home this weekend, had to help my Mom, & caught a fever so didn't have much time to study. My professor...
Carlos: Aargh! Trouble. Nothing original but everything's piling up at once. To be brief, my job interview...
Hey Carlos, good news! I've got mononucleosis.

--I swear I didn't get any of these. @.@ This is a preview of our homework. It's the first part of a six page selection. I know. Its darn looooooooooooong. And I have to read it before I go to bed. Prof Parcon already posted it via nicenet.org. I just can't imagine techonology becoming one of the "standards" nowadays. Trash that. Why do I find myself surprised? It's not even surprising at all. Still, it's a bit surprising to me.

Moving on... Today was fine.. Just fine.. I arrived at Miami safely.. No evil Mafias encountered so far.. Hope it stays the same for the rest of my life here.. This week will be a handful.. I can sense it with my super monster-sense power (?).. Classes will be official.. And hurrah! We'll have class for CMS tomorrow. We were supposed to have it last week but then the Prof weren't able to come. Still, it made us all happy when we knew we were gonna be compressed in one section. Whole CMS students, in one section, in our major subject. Cheers.

I'm excited for tomorrow. Though I'm just one of the thousands (or maybe millions) of students who are so much excited for tomorrow. To all the students, incoming Kindergarten, incoming Elementary, Incoming Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior of maybe highschool or college, I AM JUST AS EXCITED AND PERHAPS SCARED AS YOU ARE RIGHT NOW. GOOD LUCK :-D And don't forget to listen to class and make lots of friends.

Let's do the FIRST DAY HIGH.
(although I have done it already last week. LMAO.)
