My version: Memories and Salt - DAY 22
Monday, November 29, 2010/ 8:55 AM

‘But don’t forget that memory is like salt: the right amount brings out the flavour in food, too much ruins it. If you live in the past all the time, you’ll find yourself with no present to remember.’ - Paulo Coelho [link]
I get to go home after about three weeks of being away from civilization. I was with Pa on the way, which was actually a good thing cause I never had to suffer from online life short term banning (his laptop plus faaaast wifi at the hotel equals !@#$%) and meal-skipping-slash-diet. I meet up with him in the City, which was an hour and a half trip away from where I currently stay and finally have lunch in his office. He lets me decide on whether to go home that day or the day after - and I choose to stay for a night with him. Just cause I've missed him that much.

Now, I am home, in my room and it's 11:41 PM in my clock. It's been about six months since I got to sleep in my own room. Yes, my very own room and I had to wait that long to finally be with my bed again. I know how this place has become all dusty and old and boring and stuff, but somehow, I like how it is right now - It reminds me of the days I wasn't there to keep it clean and fixed; it makes me feel proud how I've survived not getting to be in here for six months straight, how I've grown so much that my toes would almost reach the tip of my bed. Six months is not very long, but it's enough.

[my room almost one year ago]

I find it amazing how six months was actually enough turning the OLD me into the me TODAY. And I feel so stupefied and hyped up about how I'm back in my room again, BLOGGING. And I'll be doing this for two more days. Just like what I have been doing some seven months ago. So I'd better make every minute worthwhile, then. That's a lot of pressure.

I downloaded The Alchemist eBook just now. I couldn't wait 'til Christmas eve for that Paulo Coelho set I've been wishing from Ma and Pa for Christmas. I want something to keep me busy. And nobody can ever keep me busy like how Paulo can. Tonight, I'll be reading The Alchemist 'til my eyes surrender. Oh yes, I'm serious.

-30 DAY CHALLENGE-
DAY 22 - What makes you different from everyone else
My answer to this would be "Yet to be known." And I'll definitely let you know as soon as I find out what it is that makes me different from everyone else. Everybody is unique in their own way BLAAAAH BLAAAH. I know, I've heard that countless times. Right now, I just don't know what my own "WAY" is. Guess I'd have to ask sum peeps, eh? I mean, I really wouldn't know by myself, right?

I can be a beggar for one day. - DAY 17
Tuesday, November 2, 2010/ 5:11 PM

H U L L O   D E A R S.
PLEASE VISIT MY GRAPHIC SITE AT:

http://almonds-andraisins.blogspot.com/ [VISIT]

It's a book-inspired graphic site. From the one I'm currently reading: Maisie Mosco's Almonds and Raisins. Did not have sumthing yummy in mind to name my site so I just chose the book's title. Heee. You can apply as a maker. I'm inviting sum peeps to. Cause classes are gonna be back again and I couldn't be online as often as I've been going online for the past weeks. So I kinda need some help. Just contact me if you wanna be a part of it :D

-30 DAY CHALLENGE-
DAY 17 - Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why.

I can be a beggar for a day.
Not that I wanna BE ONE. No. I just feel like it. I wanna feel free, you know. Free-er than anyone else. Maybe it's because I love travelling a lot too. I've kinda been dreaming about living a nomadic life. Guess I just wanna feel like those beggars from Coelho's The Zahir. Esther would say that beggars were the only ones who never pretend to be happy. To this I quote a conversation between the main character, who was a best-selling writer and a bunch of beggars from the book from which I've learned a lot:

“Who are you? What kind of life is this? You’re healthy, you could work, but instead you
prefer to hang around doing nothing!
”
“We choose to stay outside, outside a world that is fast collapsing, outside people who
live in constant fear of losing something, who walk along the street as if everything was
fine, when, in fact, everything is bad, very bad indeed! Don’t you beg too? Don’t you ask
for alms from your boss to pay the owner of your apartment?
”
“Aren’t you ashamed to be wasting your life?” asks the woman in the purple coat.
“Who said I’m wasting my life? I do precisely what I want to do.”
The burly man interrupts, saying:
“And what is it you want? To live on top of the world? Who told you that the mountain is
necessarily better than the plain? You think we don’t know how to live, don’t you? Well,
your wife understood that we know exactly what we want from life. Do you know what
we want? Peace! Freedom! And not to be obliged to follow the latest fashions—we make
our own fashions here! We drink when we want to and sleep whenever we feel like it!
Not one person here chose slavery and we’re proud of it, even though you and people like
you may think we’re just a lot of pathetic freeloaders!
”

So yea. Guess that pretty much explains everything. I'm travelling back to Miami tomorrow for the second semester. Woooo. I feel nervous and excited as well.
But I think I'm ready for another bunch of (God forbid) terror professors, dirtbag-looking bluebooks, achievements and maybe humiliations too. Bring it on.

Egotistic much? - DAY 12
Wednesday, October 27, 2010/ 11:13 AM

Okay. I dun know what to post right now.
Again, I'm just posting for the sake of today's challenge. I told you, I can't waste time! huuu. I dun think I'm gonna be able to update this often when I get back to Miami ; this also kinda explains why I'm hurrying this whole challenge thing up.

Today I did my usual sembreak routine. I woke up late (again), did the same things I've been doing for the past weeks I've been here, and now, blogging (again) very late. I wanna do something with my life, darnit. I feel so useless. I wanna do things; I wanna learn. I feel so uneasy everytime I realize I'm left with basically NOTHING TO DO again. Especially now that I've already finished Coelho's The Zahir, my third. I think it's because I'm getting so used to my typical Miami routine : Wake up, cram, eat, cram, go to class, cram, cram and cram. OH AND CRAM too. Yeah, I do a lot of cramming and I dun care. Sometimes, it helps. At least I've got SOMETHING to do, right?

I spent my whole time on the computer fixing peanutbutter's blogskin. Then I got to realize how hard it is conceptualizing something you basically have no idea about. But I think I know her enough so I guess it went well. Glad to be of help to her. Oh and now that I got exposed to more awesome skins, I'm starting to feel like mine is kinda getting boooorrriiing. I wanna change my skin soon. At least before the second semester starts. I wanna cut my hair too. It's too long already. Fuuuuu.

I DON'T LIKE EGOTISTICAL PEOPLE. I choose not to elaborate on this part. To the people on top, you may be really on top, but that doesn't make you important to everybody. It's a matter of HARDWORK ad RESPECT before you get to be respected.

So, as to quench my "i-need-something-to-do" thirst, I think I'm going out with peanutbutter and reginald on Saturday. I wanna watch a moooovieeee so badlyyy. Hope it's final.

-30 DAY CHALLENGE-
DAY 12 - How you found out about Blogger and why you made one.
Ahhhh. Memories. This is a good thing though. Cause according to Coelho's The Zahir, it is always better to tell anyone (even a stranger) stories of yours. Even ones that really are of no importance. Just to unload memories so you could have space for some new ones. See? I told ya I'm learning a lot from him.

I found out both about blogging and Blogger from one of my bestfriends in highschool, Fivi. Though I've known blogging since elementary, I only started blogging when I was in third year highschool, specifically when my tiny box right here started unloading stuff I never tried telling anyone about. Secrets, to make it clearer. So yea, guess that was pretty much it.

OH AND JUST FOR EVERYBODY'S INFORMATION,
INDI NA AMON ANG CHEF WILL'S. BOW.

I want a target. - DAY 09
Sunday, October 24, 2010/ 4:46 AM

I am learning a lot from Paulo Coelho. And I mean it.
Maybe it's because this man is a real genius. He has his own language; one that people could really understand and relate with so easily. He speaks a general word.

I remember one part of his book The Zahir where he mentions about people who have plans in life. People who just blunder on, with no idea where their target is. They plan on getting married, having their own chilren, own riches in life - then they say they're satisfied. But are they, really? I mean, after they get everything they want, will they be able to experience true happiness?

I dunno. But what I know is, that I dun want to be like those people. I want to have a target. One that's hard to shoot but not too far. Not too far for me to shoot. I think I have a lot of time for shooting. Right now, it's all about the target. I have to focus on my target. Though I have no idea where I could find that target, I know I will find it soon. I will, I just have to look further and deeper. I'm gonna get it soon enough, I just know.

Meanwhile, I wanna enjoy life. I wanna take a break from being the avid listener. I am human. I do have my own problems to solve, own family to worry about, own books to read and lessons to learn. I have my own life to live. And I hope everybody understands that. I always understand; now I want to be understood.

Guess I'm gettin' really serious here. Hoooo. Don't mind me. I'm just playing with words. :p Anyway, here goes my challenge for today.

-30 DAY CHALLENGE-
DAY 09 - Something you’re proud of in the past few days.

ALL HAIL ME.
I am proud of myself. Simply that. Guess I've changed a lot since I got into college. Some of you may think bad about me, but believe it or not, I'm doing all of this for the better not only of myself but of everybody and everything, and that includes you and my country plus my family. I don't care what anybody thinks about me. I am being me. And I am fighting for what is right. It's about time to face the fact that altruism is not enough. We all have to do things by ourselves sometimes. We have our own problems to solve. We won't be able to solve them if we don't face it ourselves. Guess this school is making me braver by the time. I'm not saying I can do everything by myself though. As I've said, I am human. But right now, I'm making myself ready for mistakes I might commit; and I'll do my best to learn from them. Let me commit mistakes, and let me learn from them and correct them. I only have one shot in life and I'm making everything worthwhile. Bow.

Useless body of matter. - DAY 08
Saturday, October 23, 2010/ 5:13 AM

I don't feel like typing a lot today.
Been busy with Mischievous Kiss Hoooo. I really like it but durn, internet is just tooooo sloooow and it's killing me. Huuuu. I guess I'll have to wait 'til full episodes comes out in the market. But I dun think I can bear waiting that long.

I've been reading Paulo Coelho's the Zahir. I really really like love it. Paulo Coelho is just epic. At first I thought it'd be one of those boring-blaaah-blaah books I've surprisingly finished reading just because of boredom. But I'm really learning a lot from it.

I have this tendency to be really useless sometimes, just plain useless human being. It bugs me whenever I realize how much I can't do a thing to make something better. I just hate the fact that a lot of people have plans with their lives; I'm sixteen and I don't have a freakin' plan yet. I know it's kinda early (or not), but I feel like I'm always running out of time. And I always go like "GEEEEZ. What do I wanna be when I grow up?! Really!" But I'm a grown up now (am I?), so what the hell? Seriously, I wanna do something with my life now. Geez.

-30 DAY CHALLENGE-
DAY 08 - Short term goals for this month and why.
Just when I felt really useless. Haaah. Thank God I have this challenge.

TO-DOs for the Semestrial Break:
1.) Sleep less. Eat less. - I think I'm gaining some weight. Huuu. ToT
2.) Finish Coelho's The Zahir. - And learn from it.
3.) Finish all Bob Ong books. - And again, learn from them.
4.) Finish my third song composition. - And post the other two.
5.) Load up my lookbook account.
6.) SAVE MONEY.
7.) Finish an article for school publication.
8.) Learn a lot of things.

I still have a lot of things in mind. But I dun feel like typing that much. I'm liking my skin right now. I'm excited for the second semester. I wanna cut my hair it already looks so !@#$^&*. Durn.
MUST.STOP.TYPING.NONSENSE.NOW.BYE.

Brida, the Witch who had two Soulmates.
Wednesday, August 18, 2010/ 10:23 AM

"Paulo Coelho did a great job in tormenting me with the ending
for the second time, and I'm loving him more for that." -Coffeemoonstar

Today, I finished one of the bests: Paulo Coelho's Brida. I really planned to finish this today cause I was planning to start on another I personally bought myself. You see, when I went home I got even happier; I found out that all the malls were having a three-day sale. I was like, HURRAH! Do they really love me that much? They had a three-day sale while I was home! Cheers for me! So yea. Going back to my book review; as usual, Paulo succeeded in disappointing me with how it ended. He really has this ability to make me blurt out the words "Whaaat? That's it?!" when the ending comes. And I just love how he does it. He's really something. Though I still prefer The Witch of Portobello. I'm not saying this one's a bad one; I'm just saying, I felt a little more witch-y with the first Paulo Coelho Book I've read.

It just bugs me (again) that Brida did not end up with The Magus. She had two Soul Mates: The Magus and her boyfriend, Lorens. In the last Chapter, she was really going to choose The Magus but then he just insisted that she must leave him alone and that her boyfriend was waiting for her. Arrrgh. I just hate that part. It was like reaching the top of the hill only to find out it wasn't the hill you wanted to climb. I know, right?! Very disappointing. Still, all the twist and turns encountered during the journey of climbing had something in it. Just like what I had said about my review of The Witch of Portobello, the perfect couple for me did not end up together and I kinda hate-love how Paulo does it all the time. It makes me wanna look out for twists and turns more. Maybe I'm gonna start on The Alchemist; but only when I finish Lisa Gardner's Gone. I picked it randomly in a booksale. I judged it by it's cover; I know that's not right, but who knows? Maye the cover really defined what was inside. And the cover is really simple and pretty. And I know that simple things always seem so complicated; and I kinda love Complicated things (WHAT?). I'm really starting to type nonsense stuff so better stop now.

Paulo Coelho was a bummer for the second time.
And I love him for that. [♥]

Every woman is as witch as the one from Portobello.
Sunday, July 4, 2010/ 4:57 AM

INDEED, all women are Witches. I got this from my first Paulo Coelho book, The Witch of Portobello.

I just can't deny the fact that we all are witches. We have this certain Witch-y material deeply embedded in us. I know I sound weird. Don't mind me. I'm just sooo depressed right now. Athena didn't end up with Heron in the end D: NOOO WAY. They were perfect. But then they turned out to be SOULMATES. JUST SOULMATES. Noooo way.. That Policeman from Scotland Yard, I'll kill him! Hahahaha. See how my inner witch overpower ME? Nevermind.

I'm loving Paulo Coehlo. I am starting to establish a new obsession. Bear with me, people. Witches are more realistic than Vampires, at least. I'm not saying I'm against it. I've watched both sagas and I must say, VERY CREATIVE *applause* I just really admire witches a lot. and FYI, WITCHES ARE NOT EVIL CREATURES -- THEY ARE WOMEN WHO WORSHIP NATURE. That's it.
Don't mind me. I got carried away.. Just let me spam for now. The next post will be different.. I SWEAR..
Again, please bear with me? :D
